What is Fitness Yoga?
FFY is a fitness program that incorporates deep stretch, Yoga postures and elements of Pilates exercises.
Every element of Fitness Yoga is validated from a fitness perspective. Any one taking part in a FFY class can expect to improve their flexibility greatly in 8 weeks. They will learn how to identify the bodies stabilizing muscles and use them effectively and efficiently to improve their posture and move with more confidence.
Who is Fitness Yoga appropriate for? FFY is appropriate for the apparently healthy adult. It is not designed for pregnant woman or people with diagnosed back problems. As its roots are in fitness this makes it excellent prescription for a total body programme where flexibility is often the weakest link. Like all group exercise it can be taught in many different levels to suit all age ranges and abilities.
How does Fitness Yoga differ from traditional Yoga? It is not a spiritual experience it mimics Yoga in its breathing and style offering postures that endorse strength and stability. There is no dogma, chanting or philosophy attached to this workout. There is no Sanskrit terms as postures are prescribed from the body's natural anatomical perspective. We do not use Yoga names and references. Extreme postures that exceed optimal ranges of motion generally are avoided. Fitness Pilates exercises that targe and positively enhance the bodies postural muscles are included in this workout.

What do I wear to a class and need to bring with me?
Wear comfortable trousers that will give, jogging bottoms or leggings are ideal or flared style yoga trousers. A comfy top and a second warmer top to put on at end
